The Council Realignment Committee (CRC)
The CRC Committee is the leadership body for all realignment functions. The primary charge of this committee is to oversee the sub-committee’s plan of work and to produce the proposed New Council infrastructure and the transition and integration plan for realigning councils.

The CRC is made up of the chairs of several subcommittees.

Governance Subcommittee
The Governance/Corporate Structure Subcommittee of the Council Realignment Committee (CRC) is to research, review and select a governance structure for the new Girl Scout council, and will recommend such a structure to the CRC for adoption. This working group is a subcommittee of and is accountable to the Council Realignment Committee. Included in the subcommittee’s work will be: developing the new bylaws, amending the articles of incorporation, agreeing on the method of combining jurisdictions to form the new council, and overseeing the preparation of appropriate legal documents.

Communications Subcommittee
The charge of the Communications Subcommittee is the development and implementation of a comprehensive communications effort that supports the merger of Girl Scouts of Broward County and Girl Scouts of Palm Glades Councils. The committee is tasked with developing key messaging that maintains the integrity of the Girl Scout Brand and is supported by the Council Realignment Committee (CRC). Members of the Communications Subcommittee do not serve as spokespersons to the public or press for the councils and/or the new council, unless they are appointed by the CEOs or communications directors, at the onset, to act as one of the two lead spokespersons for all the councils.

Finance Subcommittee
The Finance Subcommittee of the Council Realignment Committee (CRC) is to review and select a model for the financial affairs of the new Girl Scout council, recommending such to the CRC for adoption by the two existing corporate councils. This oversight group is a sub-committee of and is accountable to the Council Realignment Committee. This sub-committee is primarily concerned with developing the methodology and monitoring the merging of all fiscal operations for the new council and the majority of the preparation and creation of documents will be done by council staff, if they are able.

This sub-committee does not take the place of or perform the duties of each council’s existing finance committees.

Property Subcommittee
The Property Subcommittee of the Council Realignment Committee (CRC) is to review and assess all physical assets of the existing councils and provide recommendations for the new council to the CRC. This working group is a sub-committee of and is accountable to the Council Realignment Committee. This sub-committee is primarily concerned with developing an interim plan (2-3 years) for merging the current physical assets. This sub-committee does not take the place of or perform the duties of each council’s existing Properties committees.

Human Resource Subcommittee
The Human Resource (HR) Subcommittee of the Council Realignment Committee (CRC) primary responsibility is to lay the framework of the new council’s human resources philosophy, policy, and business practices and make recommendations to the CRC. This working group is a sub-committee of and is accountable to the Council Realignment Committee. This sub-committee is primarily focused on developing a framework and methodology for integrating the current HR practices of the merging councils into a single human resources program. This sub-committee does not take the place of or perform the duties of each council’s existing human resources committee(s).

Program/Service Delivery Subcommittee
The Program/Service Delivery Subcommittee of the Council Realignment Committee (CRC) is to review and select a model for program and the delivery of services of the new Girl Scout council, recommending such to the CRC. This working group is a sub-committee of and is accountable to the Council Realignment Committee. This sub-committee is primarily concerned with developing the methodology for merging the service delivery systems and preparing systems for the future program operations of the new council. This sub-committee monitors the method for merging all service delivery operations of the new council, which could include membership, program, adult development, product sales and Girl Scout Shops. This sub-committee does not take the place of or perform the duties of each council’s existing operational committees.

CEO Search Committee
The CEO Search Committee is a sub-committee of the Council Realignment Committee. The primary charge of this sub-committee is to initiate a search, review prospective candidates and recommend for hire to the CRC a Chief Executive Officer for the new council.


Transition Nominating Committee
The Transition Nominating Committee is an interim body charged with developing and presenting to the members of the corporation a single slate of nominees for the officers of the new board of directors and members-at-large and the new nominating/board development committee. This working group is a subcommittee of and is accountable to the Council Realignment Committee. The committee maintains confidentiality in all deliberations.
